Homeownership
is now an obtainable goal for many Americans. The City of
Macon, the Macon Housing Authority and In-Fill Housing, Inc. (a
non-profit developer) have created a homeownership program that
enables many low and moderate income families to become first-time
homebuyers.
Who
We Are...
In-Fill
Housing, Inc. is a non-profit housing developer that was created
by the Macon Housing Authority to help meet the tremendous need
for affordable housing. In-Fill Housing’s mission is to build
affordable housing for first-time homeowners while helping to revitalize
the City of Macon’s historic urban areas. Our goal is also
to provide affordable rental housing, since for many people homeownership
may not be the best option.
How...
In-Fill
Housing formed working partnerships with the City of Macon, the
Federal Home Loan Bank, the Macon-Bibb Land Bank Authority, the
Georgia Department of Community Affairs and Magita Enterprises as
well as local builders, realtors, lawyers, and lenders. Our partnerships
have enabled us to build new, high-quality housing for homebuyers
and renters.
Where...
In-Fill Housing is making a huge impact in several Macon neighborhoods! We’ve built and sold nine new houses in the Second Street/Ell Street neighborhood. In the Prince Street/Nussbaum Avenue area 21 new houses have been sold, with many more being completed.
Baltic Park Apartments is a beautiful, recently-completed 80-unit apartment development for people 55 and older, located on Hightower Road in south Macon.
And, Grove Park Village, a 40-unit apartment complex on Clinton Road in east Macon, was opened in March 2005 in a partnership with the River Edge Behavioral Health Center for a special needs population.
